I am Mike Wabe and I am the Town Crier for Watton, Norfolk.
I am also the official Crier for Norwich Pride.
I am a member of both the Ancient & Honourable Guild of Town Criers and the Loyal Company of Town Criers

With the coming of modern communications such as radio, television and the Internet, you might think that the Town Crier would become extinct. Not so, and today there are about 250 Town Criers around the country, and we are in great demand for civic ceremonies, charity functions, tourism events, weddings and commercial advertising, where our colourful livery, imposing presence and historical significance are greatly valued.


We Town Criers do the job principally because we enjoy keeping an ancient tradition alive, and consider it an honour and a privilege to serve our towns and communities.


The good news is that I am not expensive. My fees are in the Fees page and I am always willing to consider charity work.


I was proud, honored and privileged to be one of a mere handful of Criers accorded the honour of delivering the Accession Proclamation of King Charles III in the local town. You can see the video here:
